All the kids in the country must be ecstatic- no school! (Isn't it weird how I can say, "It's raining in the ENTIRE country today"?) How my cousins used to rejoice over typhoon days in Hong Kong- the whole family would just hang out all day in their PJs, watching TV and playing games. (Yes, even the adults would be excused from work- not so in Japan even with the train delays because of high winds.) Normally I would just be enjoying this ferocious display of weather, but our flight back to Canada is scheduled to leave at 19:00. Doubtless there will be delays in the aftermath of big, bad Typhoon #18, but Air Canada still hasn't changed its optimistic "On time" status of the flight. Whatever. If we're delayed I'm going to see if they can extend our stay in Canada. No point in going home for less than 2 weeks when you factor in days lost to jet-lag.
