I'm pretty well settled in at the in-laws now. It helps that we have such a good relationship- I really wonder why it isn't as easy with my own mother. Conversely, my mother-in-law has said that it's easier to understand me than her own daughters sometimes, because I always say what I think.
My husband is actually very traditional. I know he was proud of my career and the fact that we contributed equally to our family finances, but he's just had the most self-satisfied look the last month or so. I think he really likes knowing that he's providing for us. Or maybe it's just funny watching me waddle around. XD The nice dinners (two dishes and a soup) sweeten the deal too, I suppose. Sexist? Maybe. I think it's sweet, though.
The baby is not used to the dog. She kicks when it starts barking. My ribs do not appreciate.
Cooking with the dog around is very funny. I made tacos, tortillas and bean soup last night and it kept hovering, hoping desperately that I would drop something.
Tortillas are the Mexican version of temaki zushi (Handrolled sushi) according to my in-laws. XD They really loved them!
According to my doctor, my hipbone has started to open up so that the baby can drop. Just a few more weeks now...

Yeah, the look on his face is priceless! I'm glad he doesn't whine like he does at the table, but you can totally see him following every move. Ooh, please drop some chicken! Just one piece? Pleeeease? Darn, it all made it into the pan. Oh, tomatoes! I'll settle for some tomatoes! No? No? XD
What kind of dog do you have? This one's a toy poodle. He's getting old, so a lot of his previous training (like staying out of the kitchen) has come unscrewed.
He's a bitza - Staffy/Blue Heeler/Border Collie, if I recall correctly. He looks like a labrador with Staffy markings. I'll see if I can find a photo later. :)
